EU Day celebrated in Pristina

EULEX staff participated in various activities organised by the EU and Kosovo institutions in order to mark the Europe Day in Pristina.

Sports tournament and a street fair were organised in central Pristina, in the Zahir Pajaziti square. EULEX staff attended the events, handing out the information material and discussing the work of the EU and EULEX with visitors.

Also, to celebrate this day, an EU Family Reception was organized in the EULEX Police Headquarters where Bernd Borchardt, Head of EULEX and Samuel Zbogar, Head of EU Office in Kosovo welcomed the guests from Kosovo and EU institutions, reassuring once again everyone about the EU's commitment to Kosovo's European future.

EULEX will also be present in Brussels, where the Press and Public Information's team will attend the Open Day events on May 17. There they will, together with colleagues from different EU missions, explain the EU's efforts to achieve peace and stability.

2014 celebrates the sixty fourth anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, when the first step was made towards the creation of what is now known as the European Union. To this day, May 09 is also known as Europe Day, commemorating the annual celebration of peace and unity in Europe.
