Tactical Medical Course for the EULEX Formed Police Unit and Reserve Formed Police Unit

24 June 2022

Sixteen police officers and gendarmes of the EULEX Formed Police Unit (FPU) and the Reserve Formed Police Unit (RFPU) participated in a three-day intensive Tactical Medical Course aimed at equipping the participants with the needed knowledge and skills to handle trauma cases in a tactical setting.

The Mission’s FPU and RFPU police officers and gendarmes were trained by EULEX’s Medical Unit instructors, who are certified to deliver these types of training courses.

The Tactical Medical Course is based on a tactical pre-hospital trauma care philosophy, which focuses on the need to treat a multi-trauma patient as a unique individual with specific needs in a tactical situation. The extensive practice through simulation scenarios has made it a go-to type of training for police officers who deal with trauma cases in a tactical setting.
