From 6 April to 3 May 2026, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) aired a four-week mandate awareness campaign aimed at reaching the Kosovo public through both television and digital media platforms.
The campaign was broadcast on 10 television channels and 7 online portals in both Albanian and Serbian, while EULEX’s social media followers could also view it in English.
Each week was dedicated to a specific aspect of the Mission’s multifaceted mandate.
The campaign began on 6 April, focusing on EULEX’s role in supporting selected rule of law institutions in Kosovo on their path towards increased effectiveness, sustainability, multi-ethnicity, and accountability, free from political interference and in full compliance with international human rights standards and best European practices.
The second part of the campaign began on 16 April and focused on the Mission’s monitoring role in contributing to the transparency and accountability of Kosovo justice system, while assessing its functioning in terms of procedural, legal, and human rights compliance.
On 21 April, the campaign presented the Mission’s contribution to supporting stability and security for the benefit of all communities as the second security responder within Kosovo’s three-tiered security responder mechanism.
The final phase of the campaign started on 27 April — Kosovo’s National Day of Missing Persons — and highlighted the right of family members of missing persons to know the truth, as well as EULEX’s forensic work in supporting the search for and identification of missing persons related to the Kosovo conflict, regardless of the circumstances of their disappearance, or their ethnic, religious, or national origin, or any other characteristic.
