On 31 March 2026, the Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Giovanni Pietro Barbano, met with Albulena Haxhiu in her new role as Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly.

While discussing the crucial role of the Assembly in upholding the rule of law, Barbano restated EULEX’s commitment to supporting Kosovo institutions in guaranteeing a human rights-based and independent justice system.
