EULEX Hosts Over 100 Students from the Global Campus of Human Rights (EMA)

20 January

On 20th January 2026, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) was pleased to welcome over 100 students from the Global Campus of Human Rights, enrolled in the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA), for a study visit to the Mission.

The students were greeted by the Head of the Press and Public Information Office and Spokesperson of the Mission, Nicole Miller, together with the Human Rights Advisor, Valentina Vitali, who introduced them to the EULEX Common Security Defence Policy’s operational framework and the evolution of the Mission’s mandate over the years. The presentation offered a closer look at EULEX’s complex role in supporting selected Kosovo rule of law institutions in meeting their human rights obligations toward all individuals, without discrimination.

Key human rights principles formed the core of the discussion, including the right to a fair trial and liberty, freedom from torture and other ill-treatment, protection from gender-based violence, prisoners’ rights and children’s rights within juvenile justice, the right to truth for families of missing persons, and the right to security.

The visit concluded with a dynamic questions and answers session, marked by thoughtful questions and strong engagement from the students.

EULEX extends its sincere thanks to all participants for their interest, energy, and commitment to learning more on advancing human rights and the rule of law.
