High ranking Canadian Police delegation visits the EULEX Mission

18 July

On 18 July 2025, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) hosted a high-ranking Canadian Police delegation at it headquarters. The delegation included Marc Andrews, Deputy Chief of the Community Policing Operations Command of the Peel Regional Police, and Chief Superintendent Christopher deGale, Police and Corrections Advisor at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations.

EULEX’s Deputy Head of Mission, Emily Rakhorst, hosted the delegation and introduced them to the Mission’s mandate, highlighting EULEX’s role as one of the largest civilian mission under the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy and its multifaceted role in supporting Kosovo rule of law institutions.

The visit, organized by UNMIK INTERPOL Liaison Officer Paolo Cincinnato, offered the Canadian representatives insights into EULEX’s contributions to international police cooperation in Kosovo. The discussions also explored potential opportunities for Canada to deploy seconded personnel to the Mission, given its status as a contributing third country.
