EULEX Turns its Compound’s Wall into Canvas for Street Art to Promote Human Rights

09 June

Driving past the headquarters of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), one can't help but be struck by a blue visual wave speaking of human rights, justice and the rule of law.

At the beginning of June 2025, the external wall of the Mission’s Operations and Support Compound was turned into a canvas for artistic interventions to bring people’s attention to the founding values and principles upheld by the Mission while executing its mandate.

To boost community engagement, the murals were painted by 5 international artists from Belgium, Italy, North Macedonia and United Kingdom under the auspices of the Pristina-based NGO Q'Art, Art Development Center, a group of art enthusiasts and volunteers working to improve urban landscape in a sustainable manner, believing in the positive impact of art on social life.

In almost ten days of work, the artists transformed the over 600 square meters of concrete walls into stunning artwork, depicting lifelike visuals, as children, women faces or natural landscapes, alongside a variety of lettering, promoting values such as equality, women empowerment, or children rights.
