Police-specific Training

Mission specific training for Police components: the concept.

Mission specific training for Police components is crucial for the achievement of the CSDP mission strategic goals. The mission specific training for Police components will provide the EULEX Police members, that already had in their respective countries a suitable pre-deployment training, with all the specific knowledge needed in order to appropriately start to accomplish their “operational” tasks.

The training has been conceptually developed as a tool designed to let them be aware of the appropriate information on Kosovo situation especially focusing on the legal framework (basic and specific) and the documents related to each and every field of competence.

The expected, immediate objectives of the mission specific training for Police components, both in strengthening and executive CSDP Police tasks, are:

  • an immediate assumption of duties by the CSDP Police members;
  • suitable knowledge of Kosovo specific legal frameworks, of mission related objectives, concepts and approaches and the specific documents related to the scenario.

The achievement of the above mentioned objectives will allow, especially during the starting phase of the mission:

  • to avoid creating a vacuum potentially which could nullify the efforts and actions undertaken under UN Kosovo management;
  • to create suitable conditions, at the beginning of CSDP mission, for appropriately implementing CSDP Police tasks in order to achieve CSDP mission goals.
