Welcome to the EULEX Training

Dear Friends of Training and Learning,

These web-pages serve the EU Member states and other states, Training Centres, Trainers and individual mission members - simply it serves both the ones training and the ones learning.

EULEX is now a fully operational CSDP Rule of Law mission with an unique and well established Best Practices and Training Unit and a well developed training system: Induction training, In-service-training and Monitor Mentor and Advise training. When training needs of any kind are observed and assessed - training are organised and evaluated. But these in-mission-training are not enough. Mission members have first of all to be trained by their home nations, in accordance with the agreements, both in a generic crisis-management course and in a mission-specific course before going to EULEX –Kosovo.

Being selected to a mission like EULEX is a highly motivating factor for studying and learning on your own. Thus it is our ambition to serve you all preparing yourself for EULEX or already working in the mission with all what you need to widen and deepen your knowledge on all aspects of EULEX and Kosovo. You will find this material, books, maps, documents etc. available on the following web-pages.

We know that training make difference and brings added-value and higher efficiency to the EULEX  work in Kosovo. To develop these training in a participant-active way and as close as possible to the real cases in our mission, is our ambition. We know that we are training practitioners, but do not deny the value of academic knowledge.  

We also want to develop close cooperation with all training institutions preparing becoming EULEX Members for their service in Kosovo. Mainly to offer our support with up-to-date knowledge and experience from the mission, but also to avoid overlap between the training in Member States and our in-mission-training. Another reason for close contacts with Training institutions is that the mission also needs to send individual Mission Members to training in these institutions or can be supported by training experts from them in areas where the mission has not the necessary expertise.
