13 May 2013

Elvis Kelmendi, who was prosecuted by a mixed team of EULEX and local prosecutors, was found guilty for attempted murder and sentenced to four years of imprisonment by a panel of three Kosovar judges at the Basic Court of Pristina.

Kelmendi was initially charged by the prosecution with attempted aggravated murder committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2010 against Elvis Hodzic. During the trial, Kelmendi entered a guilty plea to the amended charge of attempted murder.

Elvis Kelmendi was initially arrested by Kosovo Police based on an Interpol Red Notice and then released. EULEX police arrested him again based on an investigation initiated by a mixed team of EULEX and local prosecutors under the applicable laws in Kosovo and based on information received from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
