Indictment on corruption partially confirmed against former judge

25 September 2012

A EULEX confirmation judge confirmed the indictment against Kole Puka, a former judge and Avdullah Robaj, an attorney, both charged with the criminal offence of abuse of official position or authority. The confirmation judge also declared all evidence referenced in the indictment as admissible.

Kole Puka is alleged to have committed his offence in 2005. He is accused of abusing his position as a judge to obtain material benefit by manipulating the cases of claimants towards an insurance company. Puka allegedly did this with the cooperation of the defendant Avdullah Robaj.

The EULEX confirmation judge dismissed the indictment against Kole Puka for the criminal offence of issuing unlawful court decisions and against Avdullah Robaj for the criminal offence of breach of trust.

The case is being prosecuted by a EULEX Special Prosecutor from the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo (SPRK).
