Supreme Court upholds judgment in murder case

11 September 2012

A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and three local judges, presided over by a EULEX judge at the Supreme Court upheld the verdict in the murder case against Muhamet Vishaj. The panel rejected as ungrounded the appeal filed on behalf of the defendant affirming the first instance judgment.

Muhamet Vishaj was convicted by the District Court of Peja/Pec for the killing of Luan Vishaj and Dan Kilaj in October 1999 on the road from Decani to Lluke. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.

The case was prosecuted by a local prosecutor from the Office of the State Prosecutor of Kosovo.
