10 August 2012

A panel of three EULEX judges in the District Court of Mitrovica found Besim Qitaku guilty for the criminal offence of attempted extortion and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment. Valon Qitaku was convicted because it was proven beyond reasonable doubt that in May 2009, in the village of Kqiq i Vogel, he was in possession of a pistol without a valid authorization permit.

The case was prosecuted by a EULEX public prosecutor.
