Two cousins convicted in murder case

In the Mitrovicë/a District Court a panel of EULEX judges sentenced Zaim Hajra to 8 years imprisonment for murder and unauthorised ownership, control, possession/use of weapons. His cousin, Muhamet Hajra, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for the unauthorised ownership, control, possession/use of weapons. The victim was Zaim Hajra’s sister Shqipe Hajra who was shot dead in Rakinica village in Skenderaj on 28 November 2009.

The EULEX prosecutor and the defence counsel reached a plea agreement that was accepted by the court in a public hearing on 30 May. The sentencing judgment was delivered on 31 May.
