European Union Planning Team

The Council of the European Union decided on 10 April 2006 to establish the European Union Planning Team (EUPT) to prepare for a possible future EU crisis management operation in the field of rule of law in Kosovo. The EUPT had approximately 80 internationals and 55 locals structured in four teams: an office of the Head of the planning team, a police team, a justice team and an administration team. The EUPT prepared the way for the EULEX Mission. A residual EUPT operation will continue to support the build up of EULEX, mainly in the fields of finance and procurement.
