On 20 November the EULEX Head of Mission, Alexandra Papadopoulou, met with the Mitrovica Chief Prosecutor, Shyqri Syla, the President of the Mitrovica Basic Court, Nikola Kabasic, and the Head of the Appellate Court Division of Mitrovica, Milan Bigovi, in Mitrovica north.

Alexandra Papadopoulou had the opportunity to discuss with all of them separately, as well as in a joint working lunch, about the overall situation of the justice integration in Kosovo, taking stock of the achievements made so far and the remaining challenges.

“As local authorities take on increasing responsibilities following the change in the Mission’s mandate, EULEX remains committed to supporting the implementation of the justice integration agreement reached in the framework of the EU-facilitated Dialogue”, said Papadopoulou.

The EULEX Head of Mission also assessed with the local counterparts how the Mission can best support their work under its current new mandate.
