EU Civilian Operations Commander visits Kosovo

Today, during his visit to Kosovo, the EU Civilian Operations Commander Kenneth Deane, together with the Head of EULEX, Ms. Alexandra Papadopoulou, met the Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin Kuci to discuss EULEX’s current mandate and ongoing efforts to strengthen the rule of law in Kosovo.

During the meeting, Mr. Deane stressed the importance of the EULEX cooperation with Kosovo institutions, emphasising the mutual goal to develop and implement the rule of law. 

“I am pleased to be back in Kosovo, and to have the opportunity to visit the Palace of Justice and the High Security Prison. EULEX will continue to provide advice both to the Kosovo Judicial Council and the Kosovo Corrections Service, in order to further strengthen all agencies supporting law enforcement.", said Kenneth Deane.

Mr. Deane will visit the High Security Prison in village Gerdoc as well as the Palace of Justice, where he will receive a briefing by Mr. Fejzullah Hasani, President of the Supreme Court.
